I have a lot of hair. A lot. Enough for me and at least three other people. So, I love bandanas. So,when I saw the bandana project in Alabama Stitch Book by Natalie Chanin- it was a must make as soon as possible. As an added plus, I could redeem fabric from the failed peasant shirts.
I cut two triangles of fabric, used spray adhesive to baste them together, stenciled and drew on some leaves and flowers and got to sewing.
Unfortunately, it is really hard to take flattering pictures of yourself while showcasing the glory of your hand stitched bandana. So, Anna was roped into modeling for me yet again.
This is her "Hurry up" face.
I'm wearing it right now and it is the best thing ever. Really. Soft and stretchy. Comfortable and practical. But, full of hand-stitched, reverse appliqued fanciness. It makes me feel all dressed up while keeping my hair out of my face. I definitely see more in my future.
