There were eggs.
There were baskets overflowing with toys and candy.
There were new dresses and flower barrettes.
The pattern is Geranium- yet again. Have I mentioned that I love this pattern? Simple, easily adjustable, looks great. What's not to love? The fabric is Petal from Alison Glass' Handcrafted Line. If you're going to try something like this- order way more fabric than you think you need. I had to make not just one, but two emergency fabric orders after I couldn't fit all the bodice pieces in the plain portion of the fabric.
I actually included the girls in the design and fabric selection process this time. One on one, I showed them a ton of dress patterns and fabrics. I wanted to see what their choices would be without their sister's influence. They both chose the same inspiration dress and the same fabric- just in different colorways.
Not wanting to leave Sam out, I told him I was making Easter dresses for the girls and asked him if he would like me to make him a tie or a vest or a shirt. His very serious answer was, "Yes, you can make me something but I will never, ever wear it." So, no handmade Easter finery for him. He did pick out a new polo shirt since he refuses to wear any shirt with buttons all the way down the front.
All in all, it was a good day.
