It was a very, very snowy winter for us. And now that it's finally warming up that means all the local rivers and waterfalls are running higher than they have in...well, forever. So, this morning we, along with tons of other people, went to bask in the glory of nature.
Huge, glorious, misty, cold nature.
The kids were pretty cold and wet by the end but, remarkably, not whiny. As we were headed back to the van, Anna said- "That was awesome but why did we have to come on such a rainy day?" I had to explain that it wasn't actually raining but it was water being thrown up into the air by the waterfall.
Hard to believe, but right upriver from all that loud, churning, swift water is this calm and quiet lake with a swimming area.
